Cén Saghas Lae é?

15th Jun 2020

Hello everyone, Is mise Ms. Martin agus fáilte romhaibh chuig Tuar na hAimsire. This week in Junior Infants we are answering the question 'Cen saghas lae é?', which means 'What type of day is it?'. In Ireland, the weather changes very quickly so there are lots of possible answers to that question. I've included some examples in my weather forecast video;

  • Tá an lá fuar - It is a cold day
  • Tá sé ag cur sneachta - It is snowing (Lets hope it doesn't start snowing)
  • Tá an lá tirim - It is a dry day
  • Tá an lá fliuch - It is a wet day
  • Tá tintreach agus toirneach ann - There is thunder and lightning
  • Tá scamall sa spéir - There are clouds in the sky
  • Tá an lá te - It is a hot day

Why don't you go outside and see what the weather is like today? You could practice saying it in Irish, and you could send us a video so we can see what the weather was like too.
